I built this table to fit a nook in our dining room. Our kids used to work at it when they were in school.
It's made from poplar, from a tree that grew in our yard that I had milled after we had to cut it down. The stain is a gel stain, with a shellac and then polyurethane finish. I really like the look of this wood. I still have a boat load of it, so I'll have to make other things with it as well.
