This was one of my first experiments with spot welding. It was even easier than I thought it would be. The box is no masterwork, but it was good enough for the person it was for.
And here's the box after powder coating. Paint and powder coating make everything look better. This is the final, powder-coated version. It was one of my first powder coating projects, and I was surprised by how easy it was to get something that looked pretty good.
First attempts (January 2022)
This is where it started: my first attempt at a sheet metal project, in January 2022. Meh. But it's a start.
Achievement unlocked: spot welding. The spot welder itself is in the background. These units aren't too expensive, and versions that run off of 120 are available, so this capability is pretty accessible even to a modest home shop.
