I bought the Harbor Freight utility trailer. It has been absolutely excellent for me. But one weird thing about it is that it has these aluminum covers for the wheel bearings, and I was unable to find a replacement part from them anywhere.
Well, at the time I had just gotten my first metal lathe, so I decided to go ahead and try to make some. And I did. They came out reasonably well, although it took me several attempts to get them exactly right. So it was an excellent introduction to just how close you need to be to size in metalworking, compared to woodworking.

And here's the lathe after the project was over.

The rubber seal in the picture is from a replacement I bought that doesn't fit, again because of that non-standard size.

And one on the trailer in May 2022. I had to fudge it a bit, but it works.
